"And The Word
Became Flesh"
"In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him
all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has
been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.
The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood
it.…He was in the world, and though the world was made through
Him, the world did not recognize Him. He came to that which
was His own, but His own did not receive Him. Yet to all who
received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the
right to become children of God - children born not of natural
descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born
of God. The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.
We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came
from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:1-14)
Well, that
to me, is the Christmas story! That is what I celebrate - that
the very Son of God, Jesus Christ, left heaven and came down to
earth as a baby - the Son of Man. To dwell among us and in us
in order to give us His light and life. Glory to God!
Jesus, the
Son of Man, did not come to be served, but to give His life as
a ransom for many. He came as the One and Only Mediator between
God and men. He is God our Savior who wants all to be saved and
to come to a knowledge of truth. (Matthew 20:28 and 1 Timothy
2:4-5) This describes His attitude - the attitude of Jesus Christ:
"Who,
being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God
something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the
very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And
being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became
obedient to death - even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted
Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above
every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ
is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:6-11)
Yes, God
so loves us that He sent His Son that no one would perish. Jesus
is the Word of God. He is the Living Word and He came that day
to a manger in a stable in Bethlehem, to be born to a virgin,
to live a perfect righteous life, to die and to be raised again
from the dead. He came to dwell not only on this earth for a short
33 years of human life, but to dwell in us for all eternity.
Has the Word
of God come to dwell in your heart?
Don't let
this season pass you by without allowing Jesus to give you eternal
life. Just say to Him, "Come, Lord Jesus, and dwell in my heart.
I receive Your love and eternal life through the forgiveness of
sins because of the blood that You shed on the cross."
The Lord gave
me this song, "The Lion As The Lamb" in 1988. I would like to
share the words with you now. Think on these truths, believe and
receive and have a Blessed Holiday Season -

"The Lion
As The Lamb"
The Lion
of Judah, He came as a Lamb,
To serve and to love and to die,
But in His death, He conquered sin,
He arose and is now alive.
He arose and is now alive.
If you
want to know Jesus as the Lion,
You must first know Him as the Lamb,
And be willing to serve and to love and to die,
For that's the way of God's plan.
For that's the way of God's plan.
Be as He
is. Be as the Lamb.
Be the servant of all.
Lay down your rights as a child of God,
So you won't stumble and fall.
So you won't stumble and fall.
Be willing
to serve and to love and to die,
And the time will soon come,
That you'll rule and you'll reign as the lion of God,
Because you are His son.
Because you are His son.
But until
His appearing as the Lion of Judah,
Be content as the lamb,
To serve and to love and to die for Him,
For that's the way of God's plan.
For that's the way of God's plan.
The Lion
of Judah, He came as a Lamb,
To serve and to love and to die.
But in His death, He conquered sin,
He arose and is now alive.
He arose and is now alive.
He arose and is now alive.
